Cancer Research
Cancer has become one of mankind’s greatest enemies. It has affected each and every one of us whether it be a family member, a friend or even ourselves.
Georgia OES members have done an amazing job fulfilling our obligation to give to our Sisters and Brothers aid in their misfortune through the Cancer Aid fund.
Supporting cancer research helps us aid all members of our human family now and in the future as we help those making progress in the fight to end cancer.
How You Can Help
Show Your OES Pride and Fight Cancer: Pick up and Wear an
#OESStrong Wristband
These #OESStrong wristbands are available at Official Visits and other events for a suggested donation of only $5. By wearing an #OESStrong wristband, you’re not only expressing pride in our Order, but also making a meaningful statement supporting the fight against cancer. Each wristband worn represents a commitment—to friends, to family, to fighters and survivors. Join us, wear your #OESStrong bracelet with pride, and let’s stand together in the fight against cancer. Together, we are #OESStrong.
Purchase tickets for our “Throw a Pie
for Cancer Research” event
Since we can't throw a pie in the face of cancer itself, we are giving you the next best thing: a chance to throw a pie in the face of two of our cancer-fighting champions: Norman Burkett, GGCCM, Cancer and Helen Skelton, EGT, Cancer Aid, Chair. These two good sports are willing to take one in the face, literally, to support our cancer research fund! Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and are available for purchase at Official Visits and other events. The deadline for purchasing tickets in person is May 9. If you want to purchase tickets online, use the donation form below by May 2 and enter “throw a pie” in the dedication box when checking out. You can even share with us who you’d be throwing a pie for! When you donate online, we’ll add your name to each ticket you purchase and throw it in the hat for the drawing. The drawing for who actually gets to throw the pie at either Brother Norman or Sister Helen will be on May 9. Winners do not have to be present that day. The pie throwing itself will be at the Patrons’ Club Fish Fry event on May 16 at Kennesaw Chapter (Meyerhardt Lodge). Even if you don’t get to throw the pie, you do want to be present that day! And just to add a cherry on top of the pie: May is National Cancer Research month!
